The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of the Parliament of Bhutan convened a bilateral meeting with the Royal Audit Authority (RAA) in preparation for the upcoming 5th Session of the 4th Parliament on 22nd April 2026.

During the meeting, the RAA presented on the findings of the Special Audit Report on BITS, which was carried out in March 2026 in accordance with the resolution adopted during the 3rd Session of the 4th Parliament. This was followed by detailed discussions on three key categories of audit findings: (i) procurement management, (ii) project management, and (iii) financial implications and sustainability. Additionally, the meeting also deliberated on selected recommendations from the ten recommendations submitted in the Annual Audit Report (AAR) 24 - 25.

The meeting also decided to conduct consultation meetings with Civil Society Organizations Authority, the Royal Monetary Authority (RMA), and the Bhutan Standards Bureau (BSB), in the coming weeks.

From the RAA side, the meeting was represented by the Auditor General, Joint Auditor General, Deputy Auditor General, and relevant officials. The meeting underscored the importance of strengthening accountability mechanisms, enhancing inter-agency coordination, and ensuring effective follow-up on audit observations and recommendations.
