
Members of the National Assembly Participate in Orientation and Sensitization Programme on Strengthening Engagement with CSOs
22 April 2026Hon’ble Members of the National Assembly of Bhutan, led by the Hon’ble Deputy Speaker and secretariat staff participated in an Orientation and Sensitization Programme organized by the Bhutan Transparency Initiative (BTI), in partnership with Save the Children Bhutan and RENEW. The programme was funded by the European Union under the project titled “Towards Empowering Bhutanese CSOs for Good Governance and Inclusive Development.” It served as an important platform to foster dialogue and strengthen engagement between parliamentarians and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs).
A key highlight of the session was the active participation of CSO representatives, particularly those representing vulnerable groups. They presented pressing issues and shared their concerns and recommendations directly with Members of Parliament. Their contributions demonstrated a strong commitment to inclusive governance and evidence-based advocacy.
Members of the National Assembly acknowledged the programme as highly productive and meaningful. They expressed appreciation for the dedicated efforts of CSOs and recognized their critical role in promoting transparency, accountability, and community engagement.
The programme marked a significant step forward in strengthening collaboration between parliamentarians and CSOs, reinforcing partnerships aimed at building a more inclusive and responsive nation. The National Assembly of Bhutan looks forward to continued cooperation and sustained engagement.
