
Legislative Committee Consults Legal Sectors on Jabmi (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2026
06 August 2026As part of its legislative review process in preparation for the Sixth Session of the Fourth Parliament, the Legislative Committee of the National Assembly held targeted consultation meetings on the Jabmi (Amendment) Bill of Bhutan 2026.
The committee met with private legal practitioners during the morning session and met with members from the Bar Council (Jabmi Tshogdey) in the afternoon.
The consultations provided an opportunity for key stakeholders to share their views and recommendations on the proposed amendments, with the aim of strengthening the Bill and ensuring an effective regulatory framework for legal practice in Bhutan.
The Legislative Committee will consider the insights and recommendations gathered from these meetings into its on-going review of the Bill before presenting it to the House.
