11 February 2026The Good Governance Committee convened its 48th Meeting today to elect its new Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson for a term of one year.
The meeting was attended by Committee Members, both in person and through virtual participation. The election was conducted through a show of hands. By majority decision, Hon. Lhendup Wangdi, Member from Bji-Kartshog-Uesu Constituency, who had been serving as the Deputy Chairperson, was elected as the new Chairperson of the Committee. Hon. Kinzang Wangchuk, Member from Dramedtse-Ngatshang Constituency, was elected as the Deputy Chairperson.
Following the election, the outgoing Chairperson, Hon. Namgay Dorji, Member Khamdang-Ramjar Constituency, formally handed over the relevant documents and responsibilities to the newly elected Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson.
