National Assembly convened Preliminary Meeting in preparation for the upcoming Fifth Session of the Fourth Parliament
17 April 2026The National Assembly held a Preliminary Meeting for Agenda Setting for the Fifth Session of the Parliament at Gyelyong Tshogkhang on 16th April 2026.
The meeting was chaired by the Hon. Deputy Speaker and attended by Hon. Ministers, Members of Parliament, and representatives from various ministries, along with relevant officials. The Preliminary reviewed the constituency specific issues submitted by Hon’ble Members, petitions received from the Local Government, Bills received from the government and follow up on resolutions of the Fourth Session and Committee Reports.
With the detailed review of issues, petitions, and bills, the agendas were drawn for the upcoming session. Issues that are expected to be resolved by relevant agencies are agreed to be forwarded to respective agencies for further follow up on remedial measures. And few petitions and issues which did not warrant to be deliberated at the parliament were directed to be resolved bilaterally by relevant agencies and the committees. The house further advised the committee to conduct the meeting with priority for issues that require further information and clarity, prior to the submission for deliberations in the parliament.
The Fifth Session of the Fourth Parliament is tentatively scheduled to commence on 14 May 2026.
